Anytime is a good time for a better functioning and balanced body. Pregnant mothers find that chiropractic adjustments improve their pregnancy and make delivery easier for themselves and their baby. Adjusting methods are always adapted to a patient's size, weight, age, and condition of health.

Yes. It is safe to see a chiropractor even after having back or spinal surgery. It is an unfortunate fact that up to half of those who had spinal surgery discover a return of their original symptoms months or years later. They then face the prospect of additional surgery. This too common occurrence is known as "Failed Back Surgery Syndrome." Chiropractic may prevent repeated back surgeries. In fact, if chiropractic care is initially utilized, back surgery can often be avoided in the first place.

The process of chiropractic adjustment is a safe, efficient procedure performed nearly one million times every working day in the United States. Complications are extremely rare; one in 1-3 million.

Chiropractic is effective therapy for preventive and wellness care. The anatomical focus on the human spine has created the perception of a Doctor of Chiropractic as just a "back doctor."  Although this perception is not entirely incorrect, it is very much incomplete. A D.C. is a valuable resource in matters of workplace safety, stress management, injury prevention, post-accident therapy, and postural correction.

Chiropractors can provide effective treatment for all types of conditions of the joints and of the extremities like the ankle, knee, and shoulder.

The initial goal of chiropractic care is to eliminate your pain and rehabilitate your injured tissues. After that, it is recommended that you maintain a schedule of regular spinal check-ups.  Chiropractic is likened to dentistry in that most people, who want to maintain good oral hygiene and health, go for maintenance care their entire lives. Periodic chiropractic care minimizes spinal and nerves stresses, reduces recurrences of old injuries and prevents new injuries from developing.  Also, regular care minimizes degenerative processes which enhances overall health and wellness.

The practice of chiropractic is based on sound scientific principles.  The existence of the nervous system as the primary control mechanism of the body is an undisputed scientific fact.  The nervous system is the link between the brain and the body.  Spinal misalignment puts pressure on the nervous system.  This pressure can disrupt communication to the body's organs and limbs leading to pain, discomfort, tingling sensation, numbness, and even headaches. This relationship of the nerves with the spine is the focus of the practice of chiropractic.

Doctors of Chiropractic (D.C.) must complete a 4-year Bachelor's degree, followed by 4 intensive years of chiropractic school. This includes at least 900 hours of work in a chiropractic clinic. After graduating, a D.C. must pass written and oral licensing exams at the state and national levels.
